Hartford, CT (03/13/15)
Holding holiday parties, meetings, product launch parties, etc may be easier and more cost effective for Hartford area businesses, and quite possibly a whole lot cooler.
Re-introducing a long-time Hartford landmark, restaurant, bar, banquet hall, social club and meetings facility, all housed elegantly within a facility listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Polish National Home of Hartford (PNH).
Walking through the brass entrance doors immediately reminds patrons of a long abandoned attention to detail in architecture.
On the first floor as one enters into the lounge area is the bar/pub to the left and elegant dining room right of bar/pub in a separate room with its own bar area.
On the 2nd floor, one finds more architectural details, which alone would be worth a visit, surrounding the main banquet hall. The banquet hall features its own bar and stage, which includes a balcony area with all wood, all original theater seating.
The 3rd floor features a large conference room sized room, perfect for hosting business meetings in privacy and elegance.
There is a basement level that once housed bowling lanes and was converted to a general use space. It offers a dry bar, open space or chairs and tables may be added. Currently this space is used for non-profits meetings as it has not been renovated to the standards of the other spaces.
The restaurant is renowned for the Polish Plate Deluxe, featuring a delicious sampling of Polish favorites: kielbasa, peirogi, bigos (sauerkraut with pork), golabki (stuffed cabbage), and potatoes.
Catering for events can include anything on the PNH’s standard menu and nearly anything else. Mike Kilian, the manager, encourages folks to “come down and talk to us about what you need. We will work with you to create a great experience within a reasonable budget.” This flexibility and desire to accommodate is attractive to businesses who are looking to create a unique and cost effective event.
PNH of Hartford is conveniently located a couple minutes off I-84 and I-91 with plenty of free parking available.
If you are planning a destination after a golf tournament, board meeting, team meeting, business party or product launch event, the Polish National Home of Hartford needs to be on your list for consideration.
